I often wonder, "Where would the world be without sports?" Then shortly after, chills run up my spine and hairs stand up on my neck. The desire to compete against one another to see who's the best whether political in Athens or because your bored in the backyard connect with humanity since the beginning of time...
I have been in debates with many professionals who argue that sports are nothing more than an agreed upon competition...? I believe that sports are much more than that...! Competition is the key to social development and sports is the door... We must look at how sports affect culture in parts of the world that struggle and what it means for a third world country to represent in the Olympics... Why is Soccer the most world know sport on the planet?
I told by a professional dance instructor with a very strong resume that, "When ever my students tell me that they have to miss a practice because they have practice for basketball, volleyball, track&field or what ever, I hate it." I had to tell my friend that she must respect the competion that drives her students and diversity in them. This competative diversity is the type of personality that leaders are made of. As instructors and coaches we tend to put pressure upon the student or athlete that may discourage or hold back talent due to the lack of free will while being taught...

PROBLEM = ego This is a simple equation for some and a complex, foreign and offensive statement to others... I say this because the lock on the door is the EGO that we break through or unlock easily.

Is success defined by the FAN, COACH, FAMILY, FRIENDS, AWARDS, PAY, PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENTS or MEDIA...?
How about the leaning experience without stipulation...?
